It’s been a busy summer! I have a bunch of things to mention, so I’ll try to keep each one brief.
Sunday the 10th (full) and Monday the 25th (new). No chanting or Mysore class on moon days. The Half Primary class at 10:30 on Sunday the 10th will go on as scheduled!
We’ve gotten a pretty good sized group going for chanting every Sunday at 10am. We do a few Shanti Mantras, some Yoga Sutras, some counting in Sanskrit. There’s nothing you need to know in order to join, and there’s no charge for attending. Come after Mysore or before Half Primary.
‘Tis the season for travel. We’ve welcomed a bunch of traveling Ashtangis to Mysore class over the past few months; read about where they came from on the blog. And if you are doing some travel too, let me know if you find any great Ashtanga studios out there in the world!
I’ll be taking a couple of weekends in August to go to the cabin with my husband. I’m scheduling them around the moon days to miss as little as possible, but you get to practice with Bryan for the half primary on Sunday 8/10, and both Mysore and half primary on Sunday 8/24!
Stay tuned– I’m planning both an Intro to Mysore workshop (for prospective students as well as those of you who have started in the last month or three) and a Yoga Sutras workshop (possibly centered around the second pada, the book about sadhana, or practice) for the fall. Dates, times, cost TBA.
Mysore Beginners Resource
Check it out– up on Ashtanga Yoga Minneapolis is an FAQ for beginners. It could be helpful if you’re thinking about beginning practice, or if you know someone who is (please share!).
I’ll be teaching a couple more classes at Nordeast Yoga in mid-August. Join me for a Short Form Ashtanga (going rogue) class on Monday 8/11 at 6pm and a Full Primary Series on Saturday 8/16 at 11am. And while you’re at it, our own Rosemary Erb is teaching the Full Primary Series there on Saturday 8/9. Go support her! Cash only at the studio.
One Yoga Newsletter
Lastly (promise), One Yoga is looking for students to write short testimonials about why they love practicing there. If you are inspired to do so, let me know and I’ll get you the info.
Thanks for reading! See you soon.
